Happy (late) New Year’s everyone! I had a great year in 2014 and I am very very excited for what 2015 has to offer. I normally don’t keep a list of resolutions because I never felt the need to have a list of “goals” for the year. For me, I just find it hard to come up with a list of all my resolutions in the beginning of the year because I know that I will have more goals later on in the year and more things I want to work towards. Another part is the fact that I want to accomplish everything; I hate the feeling of not achieving a resolution by the end of the year. However, I feel like 2015 will bring an abundance of opportunities and memories and I want to push past my uncertainty of New Year’s Resolutions and set a few basic goals for myself that I know I want to accomplish this year.
Be healthy. This one is simple; I want to continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to continue to learn and explore everything about nutrition and exercise. Last year was the year I embarked on a healthy lifestyle and I can not believe how far I have come. I want to continue to stay motivated to exercise and to continue to find balance in life. I truly love working out and eating healthy and I hope this love for a healthy lifestyle only grows in 2015!
Be organized. I’m notorious for being messy and I really want to work on this this year. I know every year in high school I would get a new planner and say that I would jot down all my homework, write down schedules, make notes, etc. and one month into school I would completely abandon the planner. I can’t promise that this year I will always stick to a planner but in general, I just want to be more organized and really focus on the details in my life.
Be happy. More than ever, I want to appreciate everything in my life, including all the little things. I want to wake up happy and energized everyday and to make the most out of every day. I want to make this year, and the rest of my life, count, and I want to spread positivity to everyone around me.
Knowing me, I will definitely have more resolutions as the year progresses but these are a few basic goals that I want to keep in mind for now! I hope you all had an amazing New Year’s and that you will have an amazing year in 2015!
What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
One of my favorite things to do when dressing up is layering. Normally I stick with layering outerwear but recently I have noticed more people layering delicate bralettes. Unfortunately I do not own a bralette yet but I seriously adore the look of the delicate lace under a shirt. There are so many different styles of bralettes and I think it’s a really nice piece to own!
I definitely want to invest in some basics first, like a black or white lace bralette. However, I recently saw a few pictures of some deeper plum and maroon lace bralettes and I absolutely fell in love with them! I think they are the perfect colors especially for winter, and can complement most winter outfits.
Free People has some gorgeous bralettes but like most of their items, it’s rather pricey. For those that are seeking a more affordable alternative, Aerie has some great choices! I know I’ll be purchasing a few soon!
Do you own any lace bralettes? How do you like them? I’d love some opinions and recommendations!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to make a quick blog post to say a huge Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you are all having an amazing day and that you are fully enjoying your holidays! This is one of my favorite times of the year and I just love some Christmas classics. If you have some free time on Christmas day or you just want to kick back and enjoy something relaxing, here are some of my favorite holiday classics!
Home Alone. Seriously, if you haven’t watched this movie yet you’re missing out! There’s a Home Alone 2 and 3 as well but I love the first one the best. I watch it almost every year during the holidays and it brings back the best memories. It’s seriously a classic that I adore so so much. I highly recommend watching this movie if you haven’t already! (or I mean, re-watching it as well because it really is that good!)
My Grown Up Christmas List. This song is absolutely beautiful and a great change from the classic Christmas carols you may or may not be tired of from the radios. I love this song so much and there are numerous versions of this by different artists. My favorite is still the Amy Grant version although the Kelly Clarkson one is extremely popular. It’s the perfect song to sit down by a fireplace and listen to if you want a nice, soothing song for the holidays.
Have a great day everyone! 🙂
If you haven’t realized already I absolutely love super soft, relaxed, and casual clothing. I’m all about oversized sweaters, unbelievably soft fabrics, and cute joggers/sweats. So, it’s no surprise that a trend that I have been loving lately is the boyfriend clothing trend! I find almost all boyfriend clothing pieces to be super soft and comfy and it gives the perfect amount of bagginess yet still looks feminine enough.
The main thing on my wishlist for boyfriend clothing is a loose button down! I love how it hangs on the body with the subtle unbuttoned look. The one pictured above is from Free People so unfortunately it’s out of my price range but I will definitely be on the hunt for some more affordable ones!
I own one pair of boyfriend jeans from American Eagle which is a little big on the waist for me but a simple belt fixes it perfectly! I am still on the search for another pair that is slightly more distressed with a better fit though because I absolutely love the look of boyfriend jeans! I find that the material for boyfriend jeans is incredibly soft on the inside (plus American Eagle jeans are just great quality in my opinion) and it just feels so comfortable! I love rolling up the jeans and pairing it with some ankle boots. I also love how you can dress it up a bit with some simple heels! Boyfriend jeans are just a great addition to every closet.
What do you think about boyfriend clothing? Yay or nay?
Since Christmas is around the corner, I thought it would be nice to share some of my current wishlist items. Many of these items are definitely on the pricier end for me, but these are definitely items that I want to buy at one point in my life! All of these items I have been wanting for a long time, so I’d love to purchase some of these soon!
The first item on my wishlist is the Run Forever Morning Sweatshirt. I have been wanting an item from Wildfox for the longest time but they are just so pricey for a t-shirt or sweater 😦 I heard their quality is pretty great though and that the fabric is insanely soft; two things that are extremely important for me when picking clothing haha! This sweatshirt is by far my favorite item they sell and I can see myself lounging in this sweatshirt forever. I am definitely hoping to save up a bit for this sweatshirt!
Next up is a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera. I absolutely love Polaroid pictures! They’re so cute and I would honestly love having a collection of Polaroid pictures. I feel like Polaroid cameras capture moments like no other and I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of a Polaroid camera. Unfortunately in addition to the pricey camera, the film itself gets quite expensive. However, I am still hoping to purchase this sometime in the future!
Finally, I have been wanting a Calvin Klein Bralette for the longest time! I feel like pictures of this bralette is all over tumblr and instagram. It’s not too expensive, especially compared to my other wishlist items. Plus, I have been loving that look of the print along the border. I know Victoria’s Secret started adding this type of print borders to some of their PINK collections, and I really like the look of it!
What items are you currently lusting over?
Since I live in California, I have never really experienced a true winter. Thus, I don’t really own a wardrobe of true winter clothing. Instead, I like to layer a lot during the wintertime or go totally basic with a sweater and leggings.
My favorite thing to wear during the wintertime is oversized, chunky clothing. I have been loving the look of an oversized cable knit sweater with thigh highs and ankle boots. Especially in California, we can get away with just an oversized sweater + shorts underneath and still manage to survive in the weather. I also find that oversized clothing tends to be extremely comfortable and super cozy, and I am all about the relaxed loungewear feel!
As I mentioned earlier, layers are everything for me. I especially love chunky cardigans with more delicate pieces underneath. I find that this helps to balance out the look. The look above with the loose cardigan and sheer blouse is one of my personal favorites. The touch of delicate yet layered jewelry seriously completes the look.
What do you like to wear in the winter?
Recently, I went on a big Origin haul. There were some amazing deals about a month ago and around Black Friday time, so I managed to get a lot of products! I have been using a couple of these products lately and thought I should share some of my opinions on them.
First, the famous Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask. I have heard great reviews about this product in the past and since I don’t have any face mask products, I thought that I should give this a shot. I have been using it once a week and honestly, I love it. It’s a pretty unique texture and it took me a while to get used to putting it on haha but it honestly works! It dries on the face and gives that slight tight feeling that most masks give. After I wash it off, my skin really does feel silky smooth! I have also noticed that my pores have gotten smaller, which isn’t really something I focused on before, but I have definitely noticed a significant difference.
My everyday face moisturizer has been the Zero Oil Oil-free Moisturizer Lotion. This stuff is great! I have a mix of combination/oily skin and this seriously absorbs instantly into the skin and is extremely lightweight. Something I’ve noticed about Origin products is the slight herbal scent to it. It’s quite hard to describe and although some people may not be a fan of the scent, I personally find it very soothing. I always use this right after my mask as well and it really is a perfect combo.
My everyday cleanser has been the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. I think it works great and it does a great job of giving me an overall refreshed, clean feeling. The scent for this also has a subtle herbal scent but I find that this is much more appealing and smells very fresh.
Finally, I just received two more Origin products from my Black Friday haul: the GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer and the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I will probably start using the moisturizer once I run out of the one I am currently using, and will probably start using the overnight mask on the weekends as well! I’ll have another post focusing on those two once I try them out.
Overall, I love Origins as a brand and so far, I have been enjoying all their products! Have you tried out any Origin products? I’d love to hear some other opinions/recommendations! 🙂
